Systems Technician I

Position Description

Salary: $35k – $45k yr.
Full Time Hourly

Our team supports multiple clients in a fast-paced environment, across diverse networking systems. We help customers and teammates by delivering technical support on-site and over the phone.

Customer service is our primary focus.

  • Work Location: On Site

  • Complete service request tickets.

  • Support clients by solving their more complex technical issues.

  • Provide clients with on-site technical assistance when necessary.

  • Document client interactions, resolution, and time worked in the help desk ticket management system.

  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve a wide range of issues for end-users and their equipment, including workstations, laptops, terminal services, end-user software and hardware, network and VPN connectivity, server services, etc.

  • Maintain, document, configure, and install network infrastructure, security systems, audio/visual solutions, etc.

  • Maintain, document, configure, and install server infrastructure, both physical, virtual, and cloud-based.

  • Create and maintain documentation for the knowledge-base system.

  • Availability to work in on-call after-hours rotation.

Position Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

  • Valid drivers license.

  • Ability to commute to and around Bloomington IL.

  • Reliable transportation to perform field work as needed.

  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

  • 5 or more years of Service Desk & IT (Information Technology) infrastructure support in an SMB (Small or Medium size Business) environment.

  • 5 or more years of Windows Server and Networking experience.

  • Positive, energetic, and professional demeanor.

  • Previous MSP (Managed Service Provider) experience preferred.

  • Deep understanding of Active Directory administration, DHCP, and DNS.

  • Deep knowledge of routing, switching, and networking.

  • Extensive experience with terminal servers, anti-virus solutions, backup software solutions, Office 365 management, virtualization technologies, security solutions, and hosted VoIP.

  • Exceptional customer service skills.

  • Demonstrates the drive and ability to continuously learn about modern technologies, client business issues, other job functions, etc.

Experience:

  • Networking: 5 years (Preferred)

  • Operating Systems: 5 years (Preferred)

  • Software Troubleshooting: 5 years (Preferred)

  • Hardware Troubleshooting: 5 years (Preferred)

  • Security Systems: 3+ years (Preferred)
